High Priestess Medusa

High Priestess Medusa

$500.00Price

Medusa has been a misunderstood woman throughout the history of mythos. But her story is not as simple as simply defacing the temple of Athena. She was a survivor, and she has since come to represent safe spaces for victims of abuse.

This piece uses various symbols to tell the true story of Medusa, including her origins as the Goddess Neith in Egyptian mythology and divorce from the other two parts of the Triple Goddess, known in Greek mythology as Metís and Athena. Because of this history and her association with wisdom, guidance, and strength, I have depicted her as the tarot card of the High Priestess (also the role she held in Athena's temple before her curse).
